Veterinary Staff

Mr Julian Earl is the sole principal of the practice. He qualified in 1981 from Liverpool University and subsequently worked in Lancashire for eight years before joining the practice in 1989. He became a partner in 1991, and is a former President of the Lincolnshire Division of the British Veterinary Association.

Miss Julia Morgan joined the practice in 1988 after qualifying at the Royal College in London.

Mrs Catherine Hewerdine qualified from Cambridge in 1996 and joined the practice on a part-time basis in 2005, having already worked in Hampshire, Yorkshire and Rutland. Catherine also has a degree in zoology.

Ms Jenny Powell joined the practice in October 2007 after qualifying from from Bristol University earlier that year.

Ms Helen Gibb joined the practice in August 2008 having qualified from London University.

The vets at the practice deal with all types of animals that might be presented, from the many dogs, cats, rabbits and other companion animals, to horses, cattle sheep, and occasionally alpacas, and even wild animals such as owls, badgers, and so on. Unfortunately, whilst it is not possible in this day and age to have specialist knowledge about every species – it is said that available knowledge doubles every ten years – each of the vets is able to deal with any animal in the first instance when it is presented. Then, with the practice having several experienced vets, if the first doesn’t know the answer, they are likely to know a man - or woman - who does!

Continuing Professional Development

All vets within the practice carry out a minimum of thirty-five hours of continuing professional development (CPD) every year as demanded by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and will usually have carried far more than this minimum requirement. In this way the practice stays up-to-date with the latest information and ideas about treating and caring for the wide-range of animals owned by our clientele.
