Welcome to the Banovallum Veterinary Group Website. The main Horncastle vets' surgery is situated on Prospect Street in Horncastle, on the edge of the picturesque Lincolnshire Wolds.

About Us

Banovallum Veterinary Group is the local family-friendly five-person practice dealing with pets.

We offer a twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year caring and comprehensive service for our clients' animals. The professional emergency service that we provide is local - we do not believe that sending your ill or injured pet on a prolonged trip at anti-social hours to an emergency clinic to an unfamiliar practice elsewhere in the county is in the best interests of your pet. We always have a vet and nurse available on call locally because we care about your pet.

You will see familiar faces whenever you attend the practice, even in the evening, at nights or weekends, or when your usual vet is on holiday; you will not need to travel with your poorly pet on a round-trip of nearly sixty-five miles to see a stranger at an unfamiliar clinic just because it is after normal working hours.

We are the Horncastle vets accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (vets' ruling body) because we have exceeded certain national standards and in addition are an approved veterinary nurse training practice. These mean that our care of your pets is monitored and that we can give your pet all of the care and attention that you want.

A Brief Practice History...

Until 1972, Horncastle had two separate practices that merged to form the Banovallum Veterinary Group. Mr Colebrooke and Mr Harding left their practice premises on North Street and moved into Prospect Street to join Mr Carmichael, Mr Coulthard, and Mr Poole, so forming The Banovallum Veterinary Group in 1972. The current building is an expansion of that original practice and was carried out in the spring and summer of 1988.

In the summer of 2009 planning permission was obtained so that a second floor can be built with living space for a member of staff,  all to increase our level of care and commitment to your pets.

Watch this space for details of the progress with the building! And watch out for the Open Day to celebrate the completion!
