Due to the practical difficulties of attending to animals in their home, plus the limitations on the amount of medicines and other necessities that can be carried within a car, we always request that pets are brought to the surgery if at all possible. However, we do appreciate that sometimes this is impossible and will attend an animal at home when necessary. Similarly, when a pet has to be put to sleep, we will perform this in the home environment if that is preferred.
We naturally provide a full emergency service for our clients when those sudden illnesses and emergencies inevitably arise. If your pet requires attention outside normal opening times, call either of the two telephone numbers and a message will be taken by the emergency answering service that we use (Medicom) followed by the duty vet ringing you back as soon as possible to make arrangements to attend to your pet.
Animals will be attended at the main surgery premises in Horncastle at a time arranged between the owner and the duty vet.
Due to costs of providing a 24 hour service, 365 days a year, the out of hours work necessarily involves an extra charge.
In the event of an emergency, then please telephone the surgery immediately on one of the two available numbers (01507 523365 or 01507 522236), and arrangements will be made to attend to your animal in Horncastle as soon as possible.
We try to keep our fees as realistic and fair as possible, at the same time aiming to provide the highest possible standard of care for all the animals entrusted to us.
