All of these can be brought into a flock or herd by an apparently normal animal, sometimes a cow or bull, sometimes a sheep, sometimes any of them. Some of them can also be brought in on a dirty wellington boot or shoe, or on a wheel. There are therefore a number of ways that different infections can be brought ont a farm, but the most important method is undoubtedly by buying in carrier stock.
