Identichips
We would advise all clients who are
concerned about the loss or straying of their pet – whether a dog, cat,
horse, or tortoise - to have an identichip inserted into the pet. This
involves inserting a tiny microchip under the skin where it remains, and
can be electronically identified by a special reader. “Chipped” animals
are recorded on a national register and any strayed or otherwise lost
animals that are found by veterinary practices, animal charities, animal
rescue homes, the police or local authorities can be re-united with their
owner through the details on the identichip register.
Similarly, pets that are temporarily
travelling abroad must be identichipped prior to being vaccinated against
rabies.
