Puppy parties

A major cause of disappointment after acquiring a new puppy is often not illness or injury, but bad behaviour. It is a recognised fact that most dogs that are sent to animal rescue centres are there because of behaviour that is anti-social in some respect or another. Not only that, but a high proportion of dogs that are re-homed from such a rescue centre return to such a centre again, sometimes more than once. This can ultimately lead to the euthanasia of a dog that is otherwise perfectly healthy, but which shows undesirable behaviour such as aggression (to people or other animals), destructiveness, or general misbehaviour.

At the Banovallum Veterinary Group, we recognise that this situation must be avoided if at all possible, and a crucial contribution towards this is to socialise puppies at a critically young age and PUPPY PARTIES are our way of starting puppies off on the right foot – or paw!

We invite along up to ten puppies (together with their owners of course!) between the ages of eight and sixteen weeks (the owners can be any age) and as well as fun and games (for puppies , but also the owners), general advice about worming, flea prevention and treatment, and other health care is provided (you can work out for yourself who that is for!).

Puppy parties are organised and run by the nurses, usually in the evenings – if you want to know when the next party is, please just ask at reception
